Segs4Vets gives out 35 more Segways to wounded vets
On April 8th 2009 the Segs4Vets program of DRAFT presented 35 Segways to severly injured military service members at the Alamo in San Antonio Texas.
This program has been in operation since 2005 and has to date given more than 300 Segways to sailors, soldiers, airmen and women of the US Military. The program is designed to give added mobility to those that have suffered severe injuries during combat in the current conflits.
Members of the Segnation Team were there to provide training to these new Segway users and assist in technical ways so that these new users can become gliders.
Along with this ceremony, the event volunteers got a first hand special guided tour of the Center for the Intrepid at BAMC located in San Antonio. Learning more how members of our armed services are helped to heal from their injuries.
