Lots of our customers have been asking "What are my options on the i2 for tires?"

We are big believers in using the standard Segway i2 tire. It offers many great features like the enhanced traction with its tread pattern, it is made with a silica rubber, just like wheelchair tires so it does not mar floors when you glide indoors (one of the great things about the i2 - you can glide inside) and it is a darn good tire for both off road as well as on road applications.

But you know Segway Folk; they like to try something different. Mark, who works in our service shop, found these great knobby tires and got a couple of our tour guides up on them. The tour guides liked the traction, holding power and the softer ride they gave. Plus unlike some of the tires found elsewhere there was no need to change the fenders on the i2 as these knobbies fit under them with no problem. So we have been offering them out to our customers, either mounted or un-mounted. Or we will even mount them on customer’s wheels for them.

They are great out in the dirt and mud - with meaty tread they bite into all kinds of surfaces. So for that we don't recommend them for use on places where you don't want to leave any marks.
